Lee Van Quang was the owner, sculptor and producer behind PiLiPiLi Miniatures, and I am very sad that he is no longer active within the modelling community.
His sculpting was always great, castings were very good and fit of parts, due to very clever breakdown, was usually flawless.
Whilst there was a heavy focus on Native American subjects, with a run of busts featuring a lot of the tribal Chiefs, the occasional departure to a Celt, a Geisha or a Landesknecht was also made.
The "Belles" range of female subjects in national or historical costume featured very good attention to facial structure dependant on the culture being portrayed, although some were more popular than others.
Either way, it's a shame the range wasn'tt aken over by someone to continue production when Quang decided to fold the company, although second hand kits become available now and again.
